Farmstead

6,000SF private residence in Bucks County, PA

Farmstead, a 6,000-square-foot residence, designed for a world-famous fashion model, is a modern extension of a historic stone farmhouse in Bucks County, PA. This project merges contemporary and traditional design by incorporating modern glass elements to connect the farmhouse’s original spaces. These glass structures create a seamless transition between the old and new, enhancing the home’s natural surroundings. The design leverages the natural grade of the land, creating outdoor living spaces with unique visual interest.

The project has an extensive primary suite that juts over the lower-level reflecting pool, creating a private space with room for a substantial closet. The entertainment areas on the upper level emphasize a linear movement pattern that connects the old house guest space at one end with the pool and patio at the other. On the lower level, a spa and fitness space open onto a patio and reflecting pool that cultivates a Zen sense of relaxation through a connection to nature.

Farmstead emphasizes harmony between architecture and nature, providing a luxurious yet historically respectful retreat.
